Dramatic Advertising That Sells

Think about the last car purchase you made... Did you watch closely for advertisements that explained all of the features before you bought the car?  Probably not.  In fact, studies show that most of us notice the ads AFTER we have purchased our new car.

Let's face it... consumers are emotionally driven.  They make purchases for the feeling they get, and then look for the logical benefits to justify the purchase.  That's why we notice all of those ads after the fact!

Wise marketers make good use of this insightful knowledge.  Good advertisements get the benefits in front of the customers so vividly that they experience the benefits before they even buy the product.  Once they see themselve enjoying it, they've just "gotta have it!"

1  Make It Picture Perfect

Forget about your product or service for a minute and focus on the consumer.  What will he enjoy when he has dug out his money and taken home your product?  Put yourself in his shoes, and then describe the experience in vividly dramatic detail.

What does it feel like to be a stay-at-home mom and still be able to make money?  Describe the freedom, the confidence, the things she'll be able to afford.  Tell the story in bright words that compel the reader to enter and experience it for themselves.

You've caught them... hook line and sinker once they've experienced those feelings.  Chances are they've dreamed about them, and now the know they can fulfill the dream through your product or service.

2.  Throw In The Logic They'll Need to Justify Themselves Later.

You've probably met up with the "after the sale jitters."  You make the purchase, enjoy it for a day or two and then it hits home... you've got a payment to make and start wondering if you've made the right choice.

Sure, your customers will second guess themselves after they make the purchase too... that's why you need to supply the logic for the sale upfront - even though you know they buy for emotional satisfaction.

Let them know that it's a special, reduced price... if they buy it now.  That'll make them feel better about not waiting.

Tell them about other customers who are "glad they did" to make them feel like they aren't alone.  Others thought it was the thing to do too so it must have been.

Hey, the customer who enjoys the product, and can feel good about the purchase is one satisfied customer who'll do business with you again.  Take care to set your advertising campaign up for success.

Effortless Fashions With Head-Turning Flair

This season there's no need to fret over seemingly impossible-to-achieve styles. The key is to make your look appear low-maintenance. A comfortable outfit with stylish trimmings, if done correctly, can be your best look yet.

"This season's look is relaxed, feminine and flattering on just about everyone," says Jennifer DeBarge-Goonan, Marshalls' style expert. "The goal is to make your style look effortless by mixing and matching the season's hottest trends." She offers this stress-free guide to looking fabulous this season:

A Perfect Fit-To look your best, only wear properly-fitting clothes. Whether you're a size 2 or a 22, buy what fits and ignore the "number" size. Remember, just because you can button it, doesn't mean it fits.

Room To Breathe-This season is about flowing fabric and soft movement. No super-tight styles here. To avoid looking frumpy, pair a full, flowing skirt with a top that features straight, tailored lines. Make sure you can't fit two people in your tunic, but a little bit of room-that's just perfect.

Short Shorts-Who wears short shorts? Gals that are super fit or supermodels. Luckily, for the rest of us, gauchos and Bermuda shorts are once again a warm-weather favorite. "Shorts" that meet the knee are popping up everywhere. Dress 'em up with a sexy heel or dress them down with cute flip-flops&;either way, they're hot.

Colour Me Beautiful-Earthy tones are everywhere: beige, cream, yellow. To stay ultrahip, lace your favorite frock with brown accents. Keep it earthy, keep it cool.

A Feminine Flair-A delicate ruffle here? An embroidered flower there? Lace? White crochet? Yes! Chances are that deep down, every woman has a touch of a "girly-girl" sitting pretty inside of her. Subtle reminders of femininity can be found on everything from thick belts to bohemian skirts.

Can't Forget The Accessories -The fastest way to turn a boring, old outfit into something fab is to pair it with some fun shoes and a big ol' handbag. This season's shoes? Heels with a peekaboo toe or funky wedge sandals. The bag? As long as it's big, it's ideal. Protect your eyes with oversized sunglasses.

For The Boys-Okay, ladies, it may not be all about us. The men in your life should be looking fabulous, too. This season, suggest preppy polo shirts and plaid shorts. If you've got a "guy's guy" on your hands, get him vintage T-shirts or leather flip-flops. Because after all, the better he looks, the better we look!

HOW TO BOOST YOUR SELF IMAGE

Women, in particular, often have self-limiting beliefs, which can have serious negative consequences. Most young women use social media every day, and research suggests that looking for the ideal look-focused content is associated with poor body image.

Girls emerge from adolescence with a weak self-image, relatively low expectations from life and less confidence in themselves and their abilities than boys. In a culture saturated with digitally altered images of impossibly thin women, raising girls with high self-esteem can be really daunting. But as a parent, you have a big influence - both through what you say and what you do, as it is widely known that female role models can inspire women and help them cope with stressful situations. (Study extract from Australian Popular Science).

To progress on self-confidence, we need to challenge negative self-narrative (e.g. 'I'm not smart enough / not beautiful) and replace them with more favorable and optimistic self-talk as our beliefs about ourselves are important in shaping all kinds of important decisions, such as what colleges we apply to, which career paths we choose, and whether we will contribute ideas or try to compete for promotion, says Harvard Business School Assistant Professor Katherine Coffman.

When our self-esteem is higher, we not only feel better about ourselves, we are also more resilient. The main thing is improving self-esteem requires some form of work, as it involves the development and maintenance of healthy emotional habits, but doing so and especially doing it properly will yield a great emotional and mental return on your investment.
